How I Got Here

I’ve been crafting stories and recording videos for as long as I can remember. At the age of 10, I completed a computer class project that required me to edit a video. From that moment, I was hooked. I began taking numerous video and television production classes throughout my time in grade school while taking the time to teach myself production basics. I was determined to become an esteemed and well known producer in the entertainment industry.

I started my career working in the news production environment then I transitioned to corporate America providing video production and editing services to city government departments and mid-sized corporations through freelancing opportunities.

Albeit I have worked in more formal areas, I have always had a passion for documentary filmmaking. My passion led to me to an amazing opportunity to which I am very proud of – creating and producing a documentary on the City of Piedmont park renovations.

I love media production and the editing process as it allows me to create stories using a variety of clips. I especially love being able to give others a voice through video production and tell the story of those in marginalized groups that other storytellers may shy away from.

As a creative and successful video producer, marketer and media professional with ten years of experience, I have also had the privilege of being mentored by two very important industry names: two-time Emmy award winning journalist, media educator, and founder of College Newsnet International (CNI) Mary Cardaras, as well as journalist, filmmaker and educator Kevin Pina.
